Pepper Your Talk

Pepper Your Talk is an access-all-areas platform that works to fill the void that many experience when transitioning from the education system to finding your feet within the fashion industry. Pepper Your Talk positively supports and educates the next generation of fashion creatives by providing access to information, people and events. It facilitates the growth of knowledge, connections and all-round confidence within the fashion industry. During the workshops, attendees will gain an insight into how to make a start in the fashion industry, learn about the variety of roles available in the industry and develop an understanding of how to grow opportunities for professional growth.

10AM - 12PM The Journey to Becoming: Breaking into the Fashion Industry

Each panellist will take attendees through how they found their feet in the industry with an emphasis on theirjourney, from realising they had an interest in fashion to channelling that into a career. This will be followed by a mini presentation of designercollections.

From the panel discussion, attendees willgain an insight into how to make a start in the fashion industry, learn about a variety of roles available in the industry, understand how to grow opportunities for professional growth, and analyse the changing fashion scene and the role of the influencer. From the demo, attendees will hear from the designers on how a collection is researched and designed, how fabrics/models/locations are sourced and how the commercial strategy is put together.

12:30PM - 2:30PM Breaking into the Hair and Beauty Industry

A panel discussion of the changing beauty landscape addressing ethnicity, beauty standards and new trends and the future of the industry, followed by a LIVE demo by MAC and freelance celebrity make-up artistPaloma De-bords.

From the panel, attendees will be provided with an in-depth understanding of a billion pound industry through experienced professionals and industry insiders, the changing fashion scene and the role of the influencer. From the demo, attendees will sit-front row at a LIVE demonstration in which every-day hacks, easy techniques and tips will be shared, whilst Paloma enhances a models face using make-up.

Youngtrepreneurs

Youngtrepreneurs aims to inspire young people to engage and excel in entrepreneurship while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and sources of funding. Youngtrepreneurs producesgroundbreaking media content, events and publications while engaging with mentors and fostering a network of young entrepreneurs.

10AM - 12PM The Youngtrepreneurs start up challenge finale and docu-series premier

This session will feature the premier of the Youngtrepreneursdocu-series, which follows seven young business owners; Zoe Jackson, Luke Thomas, Elijah Oyefeso, Ollie Forsyth, AyishatAkanbi and Rob and Aidan. The docu-series follows them on their journey to entrepreneurship and starting their businesses. From a variety of backgrounds, they give an insight into their experiences and what has made them choose to start their own business. The session will also include a talk from one of the featured cast members. The film highlights the challenges each of the youngtrepreneurs faced and the motivation behind their decision to set up their own business, as well as their high and low points, personal stories and how they have dealt with adversity and setbacks. For many who have not come from affluent backgrounds it also shows that there is no barrier to success. The session will also give the audience an insight on creating a perfect business picture for investors.

The Start-up challenge is a competition for budding entrepreneurs who have a business or enterprise idea. Ten applicants were chosen and attended a three-day bootcamp where they received mentorship and guidance from industry professionals. Five finalists were selected to trial run their business idea, after attending the bootcamp. The final five will give their final pitch to the panel and the winner of the competition will be announced in the afternoon session

12:30PM - 2:30PM The Youngtreprenurs start up challengefinale and‘From Idea to Income’ book launch

The launch of NXGGroup CEO Michael Kosmas’ book ‘Idea to Income’. Michael will present his inspiration for the book, as well as some of the tools he has developed to support young businesspeople. Michael will explore some of the strategies that may be used to develop ideas, and what step-by-step actions can be used to shape an idea into a viable business model. The audience will get an insight into the tools and assessments Michael has developed, which are user and reader friendly, dispelling the notion that business or enterprise is only for selected people.

The winner of the Start-up challenge will be announced by guest speaker Bianca Miller (finalist of BBC’s The Apprentice), who will also give a short presentation. Each finalist will give a presentation about why they applied, their journey so far and how they plan to further develop their business, before the winner explains how they went through the process and what made them think of starting their own business, as well as future plans and how the Youngtrepreneurs programme has helped them to get their idea off the ground.

Living the Dream

Living the Dream is an award-winning performing arts company set up in 2006 by Zoë Jackson MBE, aged 16, to champion young talent and inspire young people to live their dreams through the arts. Living the Dream has grown to include a School of Performing Arts, Dance Company, a Talent Agency and a charity The Dream Foundation. Living The Dream’s list of audiences includes Her Majesty The Queen, ITV, Vodafone, Arsenal Football Club, Prêt à Manger, Virgin Media and more.

Attendees will explore street dance and commercial dance styles suitable for all levels. Starting with an upbeat warm up to get you moving, you will then learn two different dance routines with a professional dance instructor, before taking part in an exclusive Q&A with workshop leader about the dance industry and how to break into it. Living the Dream's performers and teachers have previously danced in West End Shows, on TV and in music videos, at the BRIT Awards and for Her Majesty The Queen.

Link Up TV

Link Up TV is a leading creative and youth-inspired online and entertainment channel that specialises in showcasing unsigned and emerging talent.

They bring together innovative shows, competitions and behind-the-scenes footage as well as the latest music from the Urban world. In their recent work, Link Up TV has featured artists such as Wretch 32, Tinie Tempah, K Koke and Chip, among others.

10AM - 12PM Video Production

Attendees will learn basic steps to building a career in music video production and online content , as well as tips on starting their own YouTube channel and generating an income in the industry. Panelist will include video producers who will discuss their journey on how they got started , how they have build up a client base , tips on running low budget productions, monetisation and much more.

12:30PM - 2:30PM Music Production and Business

Join top industry experts and artists as they discuss strategies of how to make it in the music industry . How do up and coming artists in all genres make a living , while forging ahead as inspired creators? The session will also provide tips on how to create and get your music out to audiences , streams of income , building a following , the role of music labels & record deals and so much more . Attendees of the seminar will walk away from the day with solid ideas and insights into the business of music making. There will be ample time provided to network with a variety of leading industry personalities, ask questions, and interact with fellow artists.
